✨ From Y-Farms to The Country Retreat in Pride ✨

For more than three decades, our family has poured our hearts into Y-Farms Kennels in Zachary, Louisiana — raising Labrador Retrievers and caring dogs of all breeds. Over the years, we’ve built lifelong friendships with clients, and created a place where dogs — and their people — feel like family.

That same spirit had led us to a new chapter— the restoration of a historic home and property on Mahoney Road in Pride. Built in 1902, the home had been empty for years, quietly waiting for someone to bring it back to life. When we first stepped onto the property, we didn’t just see an old house; we saw a chance to create something meaningful — a peaceful retreat that honors its past while offering comfort and charm for today’s guests.

What was once abandoned is now The Country Retreat in Pride, on 24 quiet acres. Every board, brick, and beam carries a story, lovingly restored to preserve its history and beauty.

At the heart of the property are the ponds — originally designed for Retriever training. Today, they’ve become so much more: a spot for fishing, a fun swim for your pups, or a paddle in a kayak.

We’re Brad, Jennifer, and McKenzie — a family who has built a life around dogs. The Country Retreat in Pride isn’t just another property to us; it’s our labor of love.
